Ways to deal with Diabetes and live a healthy life!

It is well known that a person suffering from diabetes is always suspected to suffer from Heart problems, High Cholesterol, cataract and gangrene etc. Diabetes has no solution till now and hence prevention is only the best solution to diabetes. Diabetes patients should keep the utmost care of their eating habits. As per said Dr. Gerald Bernstein the basic aim of a diet plan of a diabetic patient is to control the increase in blood sugar. So here are the food diets for a diabetes patientwhich will help a person to control his blood sugar level.

  1. White Rice should be avoided: As per Andriews anything prepared from white flour should be avoided. As white rice can increase your blood sugar levels like the normal sugar.
    Solution: Instead one should opt for the brown rice. The whole grains can be a better option as they don’t spike the sugar level due to fibers in it, which reduced the rush of glucose in the bloodstream.
  2. Blended Coffees to be avoided: Coffees with sugar syrup, cream and other toppings are similar to the milkshakes and can increase your blood sugar and hence a diabetic patient should avoid them.
    Solution: Rather one should go for low calorie and sugar free coffees which will prevent spike in blood sugar.
  3. Only limited fruits are good in Diabetes: A diabetic patient should avoid fruits like bananas, melons and stone fruits like peaches etc. which are have high sugar content.
    Solution: One should rather have fruits like apples, blueberries and other berries which have low sugar content. This will prevent sugar spike in your blood.
  4. Avoid Breakfast pastries: A diabetic patient should strictly avoid pastries especially in breakfast. Also avoid doughnuts and other bakery sweets if you want to say goodby to diabetes.
    Solution: Instead one can have whole grain muffin or a brown rice cake. One can also have little low sugar jam but one should try to avoid even them if possible.
  5. Fruit smoothies are disaster in Diabetes: One thinks fruit smoothies are healthy and good. But this does not apply to a diabetic person. They may lead to a sudden spike in your sugar level and hence can be a disaster.
    Solution: If one really likes smoothies then one should go for vegetable smoothies which are good in diabetes which includes vegetables like kale, spinach and you can add low sugar fruits even like green apple and berries.
  6. Diabetic patient should avoid fats: A diabetic patient is at high risk of heart disease and hence should avoid oily an fatty food.
    Solution: One can rather have more plant based proteins like beans, soy, lentils and more fibrous food which are good for heart.
